Artie Antoniades and Nik Panagopoulos

What inspired you, or led you to your current career?

Artie : Being of Greek origin, we are naturally drawn to food and hospitality. The restaurant business is the perfect fit and we both love it

Nik : Moving here from South Africa, I wanted to move away from my previous career in air conditioning and do something I felt passionate about. We both owned our own business, so wanted to apply what we learned to an industry we both knew we would love.

How long have you lived or worked in Sandy Springs :

We have both lived and worked here for 25 years. We love the community and getting to know our customers who have become friends over the years.

What do you love about Sandy Springs:
Nik :
We love the location and easy access to the whole city. We have so many customers that are like family. We have watched their children grow up and have celebrated the special occasions in their lives. We have hired those same children to work with us!

Artie : It is a small supportive community with big-city amenities. We feel Sandy Springs is the heart of Atlanta.

If you could travel anywhere right now, where would it be?

Nik : We have traveled so often to South Africa and Zimbabwe where our parents lived. Now they have passed away I would like to go to Greece to see our other family

Artie :  Yes, Greece and Japan!

Choosing anyone, who would you like to have lunch with?

Artie : Margaret Thatcher

Nik : For me, it is Elon Musk

What is something unique about you?

Nik : The Military vehicle I was traveling in overseas got blown up in a landmine. I was injured, but lucky to be alive today

Artie : We are Greek, born in Zimbabwe Africa, and living in America! A true melting pot of nationalities. Our families are scattered all over the world – Greece, England, Australia, and Africa

Who is the most interesting person you have met :
Nik :
I saw Nelson Mandela once after he was released from prison, but before he became president, but met his human rights attorney George Bizos, (who was Greek).

What advice would you give to people?

Artie : Live your life with integrity and be sincere

Nik : Do what you are passionate about, or don’t do it.

What makes you happy?

Family is the most important thing to us. Our younger brother has just passed away unexpectedly, and it has reinforced this principle. Traveling also brings us great joy!
